Kick start the festivities with a fun and inspirational one day mosaic workshop where students will learn how to make colourful, abstract mosaic jewellery – a contemporary take on micro-mosaics and very popular in Italy. Students will be provided with 3 silver plated pendant bezels (ring and brooch bezels will be available to buy from studio stocks).
A wide range of materials are available in the studio including unglazed porcelain (easy to cut earthy tones) vitreous glass and stained glass (bright spectral hues) and each student will be a given a few pieces of Venetian gold leaf mosaic to use during the day. All materials, equipment and adhesive will be provided.
Please feel free to bring additional materials that you may wish to experiment with or incorporate – small beads, sea glass & pottery.
